ChartGallery
The ChartGallery add-on is a repository for information that is presented to the clinic from outside sources, as well as a place to store images from charts, x-rays, lab results, and any other type of graphical information. This tool is available within the EMR creation as well as from program menus; thus, it is accessible when needed most.
This feature closes the loop for all of the disparate information that is usually stuffed in file folders; and it’s electronic. Any information stored may be reviewed or printed along with the narrative reports.
E/M Coding Review
As mentioned previously, the E/M code bullets and categories are attached to the appropriate EMR buttons within the cardiology data set. As the encounter narrative is created, the E/M bullets are calculated in the background. The level of service that matches the current documentation of the encounter will help code to exact documentation standards. No more down-coding from fear of inadequate documentation.
Health Protocols
The data set arrives with numerous prebuilt health protocols. These protocols may be changed or added to. When the EMR encounter initiates, checks are performed to notify the provider of any exams, labs, or other types of protocols that need to be reviewed by the provider. For example, a health protocol could be established to remind every new patient about the dangers of tobacco use.
Protocols may also be diagnosis driven; thus, when particular diagnosis codes are assigned to the patient, resulting protocols may be displayed on the next patient encounter.
