PracticeStudio X11 Earns 2011 PQRS Single Provider and Group Qualification

12/15/2010 - Amarillo, TX

PracticeStudio X11, a complete Electronic Health Record (EHR) software product by MicroFour, Inc., has earned Physicians Quality Reporting System (PQRS) Single Provider and Group Practice Reporting Option (GPRO) qualification for 2011. PQRS Qualified status officially affirms that the EHR is capable of tracking and reporting data pertaining to a specific set of health-related criteria determined by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Medicare providers who satisfactorily report the required amount of data to CMS each year are eligible for funding incentives from the federal government.

"As EHR developers, we see PQRS as the gateway for significant quality measure implementation over the next several years," says Jay Taylor, President of MicroFour. "Of course, improvement and advancement of patient care is the ultimate goal, but providing real, meaningful data to the practicing physician is a great side benefit."

EHR products qualified for PQRS undergo a rigorous series of tests and readiness reviews to ensure that the product not only allows for sufficient entry of reporting data but also enables individual providers to submit that data to CMS at the end of each reporting period. Products qualified for the Group Practice Reporting Option are further tested and are deemed capable of tracking and submitting data for healthcare practices with multiple providers.

"PQRS is a milestone on the road to transparent interoperability and data results sharing for all physicians," says Taylor. "We have invested the time and resources to make PQRS a very reachable goal for any provider using our software."
