At the core of PracticeStudio's touch screen EMR product lies a thorough and intuitive set of chart screens specifically designed for cardiologists. These screens contain specialized history, complaint, and examination screens which allow you to quickly and accurately document an extensive array of diagnosis and treatment situations.
Customizable Chart Screens
PracticeStudioX11 chart screen sets come with comprehensive screens that are ready to use, day one. Our discipline-specific screens have been continually improved over the past 20 years with direction from practicing healthcare providers and contain an extensive set of features that facilitate fast and efficient chart note entry.
All PracticeStudio screens are customizable, but once a standard screen is customized, it cannot be updated or overwritten automatically.
What you should know before you customize standard chart screens:
MicroFour automatically updates PracticeStudioX11’s chart screens to provide our clients with the latest feature enhancements. Because PSX11 is an ONC-ATCB certified product, our chart screens must also be updated periodically to stay current with governmental regulations. If you are currently taking advantage of government reimbursement programs—or if you want to do so in the future—these updates are necessary for you to meet Meaningful Use. Once a standard chart screen is customized, it cannot be automatically updated and will not be overwritten unless you choose to manually overwrite it by replacing it with the original, updatable standard chart screen.
The best alternative for those who want to customize specific screens but do not want to lose the ability to update the standard screens is to use the “My Screens” button on the PracticeStudioX11 home base. This button allows you to make a copy of any of our standard chart screens and customize the copy. The original standard screen remains unchanged and updates normally, but you still have the ability to use the customized version any time you wish. You will still have to keep in mind that MicroFour cannot automatically update customized screens, so those screens may not have some of the features or input buttons required for meeting Meaningful Use if you are participating in a government incentive program.
Cardiology Chart Screens
One of the greatest strengths of PracticeStudio EMR is that the system is installed with thousands of prebuilt screens, ready to use right out of the box. Many competitive systems require hours or even days of "training" in order for the system to be usable.
Chart note entry starts with the Homebase screen. Every portion of the patient's chart can be reviewed by selecting options on this screen:
- Initial Review/Entry: The Nurse Entry button on the Homebase presents all necessary screens for entry of Constitutional, PFSH, and Medication information. For established patients, the nurse enters this information and also has the ability to review and comment on the most recent plans and assessments prior to standard entry.
- Procedures: Entering Diagnostic and Treatment Procedures with accompanying Referral reports is fast and easy with the Cardiology-specific procedure screens and reports. Entry screens for the most widely used diagnostic tests and procedures are already in place and ready for use with the charting screens. These screens and reports include the following:
